Play safe
Last updated 29 October 2026
Huntt happens in the real world, with real roads and real people. Being a great Scout or a slippery target never matters more than getting home safe. Read this before your first hunt.
Eyes up
The map can wait. What is in front of you can't.
- Stop walking before you look at your phone. Glance, then go.
- Never look at the screen while crossing anything.
- Keep one ear free so you can hear traffic, bikes and people.
- Pings, catches and voice come with sounds and buzzes, so you don't need to stare.
Roads and traffic
No catch is worth a car.
- Cross only at crossings and with the lights. Never run into a road, even mid-chase.
- Hunts are on foot. Never drive, cycle or ride a scooter during a match.
- Stay off railways, motorways, car parks with moving traffic and loading areas.
- Hosts: draw zones around parks, campuses and pedestrian areas, away from busy roads.
Respect places
The zone is a circle on a map. The law still applies inside it.
- Public places only. Never enter private property, gardens, building sites or closed areas, even to hide.
- No climbing fences, walls, trees or roofs, and stay out of water.
- Follow park hours, signs and anyone in charge of a place. If you're asked to leave, leave.
- Don't hide in shops, schools, hospitals or places of worship, and be kind to people who aren't playing.
No contact
A catch is a button press, not a tackle.
- Never grab, push, trip or block another player.
- Don't chase anyone towards a road, water, a drop or a crowd.
- If a chase gets heated, stop. Losing a round is fine.
Playing at night
Night hunts are the best hunts, if you can see and be seen.
- Pick well-lit zones with paths. Skip unlit parks, woods and waterfronts.
- Wear something bright or reflective and carry a torch (your phone's will do in a pinch).
- Start with a full battery. Battery saver in Settings > Game helps on long hunts.
- Public hunts for under-18s run in daylight only.
Meeting new players
Public hunts mean playing with people you don't know. Keep it in the game.
- Meet at the hunt's public meeting point, in a busy, open place. Never at someone's home or car.
- Bring a friend when you can, and tell someone where you're playing and when you'll be back.
- Don't share your address, school, phone number or socials, in voice or anywhere else.
- You can leave any lobby or match at any time. Trust your gut.
If you're 15 to 17
Your account has extra protections switched on until you turn 18.
- Tell a parent or guardian when and where you're playing.
- Your card is friends-only, friend requests need a mutual friend or a QR scan in person, and you only join hunts for your age group.
- Never meet anyone from Huntt alone or away from the hunt.
- If anyone makes you uncomfortable, block and report them, and tell an adult you trust.
Look after yourself
Hunts can be long, and running is real exercise.
- Warm up, bring water, and dress for the weather. Take a break in heat or if you feel unwell.
- Wear proper shoes and watch your footing on kerbs, steps and wet ground.
- Play within your limits. Hiding well beats running hard.
Get help and report
If anyone is in danger, call your local emergency number first (112, 911, 999 or 100).
- Report or block a player from their Player card, or from the rating screen after a match. Reports are reviewed by people.
- Blocking stops them seeing you, inviting you or joining your hunts.
- Leave the lobby or match whenever you want.
- For anything else, write to support@playhuntt.online or use Contact support in Settings.
